Amusing Designs

Designer Shane Snow hated searching for printing quotes, so he made his own printing quote machine - way cool!

TRAFFIC CAMERA

My husband was driving when he saw the flash of a traffic camera. He
figured that his picture had been taken for exceeding the limit even though
he knew that he was not speeding.

Just to be sure, he went around the block and passed the same spot, driving
even more slowly, but again the camera flashed.

Now he began to think that this was quite funny, so he drove even slower as
he passed the area once more, but the traffic camera again flashed.

He tried a fourth and fifth time with the same results and was now
laughing as the camera flashed while he rolled past at a snail’s pace.

Two weeks later, he got five tickets in the mail for driving without a seat
belt.

**This didn’t happen to MY husband…it was sent to me via email - so if it’s yours, I didn’t steal it, I just didn’t know who to attribute it to! Leave a comment and I’ll give credit where credit is due if anyone knows who this happened to.

A handy desktop tool to try

One of my goals for 2010 is daily organization. I’m finding time management is getting harder and harder when your business is built around social media and constant interaction with clients via twitter, facebook and email. I have requests coming at me from every platform and needed a way to organize it succintly and efficiently.

For the last two weeks, I’ve been using the Veedid Desktop To-do List and have to say that I love it for keeping track of my work’s daily-to-do’s.

With Veedid, I can print my to-do lists, schedule appointments, set reminders and timers, and even search for items through the search function - I’m loving it!

It’s much easier for me than using my outlook calendar because in order for my outlook calendar to remind me of something, I have to keep it open on the desktop, which means my mail is continually popping up and distracting me. With Veedid, I can minimize it and not think about it until I’m ready to look or a deadline timer goes off.

How do you stay organized?

Sadly, this happens all too often…

Client: “I’ve sent the image. I can’t wait to see the final product.”

Me: “This image is 115px x 148px at 72dpi. Typically we need images around 1000px and higher with around 150+dpi.”

Client: “Can’t you just Enhance the images like they do in CSI.”
